Low Back Pain

Low back pain is very common but a precise cause is often not found. Researchers found that 60-80% of people will experience uncomplicated back pain at some time in their life.

Non-specific low back pain accounts for over 90% of patients presenting for care

Non-specific low back pain refers to any type of back pain in the low back (Lumbar) region that does not have a specific cause.

Non-specific low back pain can caused by:

  • Traumatic injury
  • Lumbar sprain or strain
  • Postural strain

  • Decrease pain
  • Decrease muscle spasm
  • Improve function and range of motion
  • Provide an exercise program to assist return to full function

A recent study found that massage was better than active controls for pain both in the short and long-term.
